Tesla has released a much-needed firmware update to its cars: fart sounds.
The new feature allows drivers to play custom horn sounds ranging from music to animal sounds and farts. This update, however, only works on selected models with external speakers.
“Change your horn sound to bleating goats, hissing snakes, farts or holiday jingles with latest Tesla software update,” CEO Elon Musk tweeted. Any custom sounds can be uploaded from a USB drive.
This feature also acts as a speaker. Once your car is parked, you can blast whatever music that is playing inside the vehicle through the external speaker.
Also note that the custom honks require the car to be parked for them to work. Blasting out a fart noise in an emergency isn’t quite commonly associated with danger. When you’re driving, the standard horn will be applied.
