Nike is truly working to make an active lifestyle possible for all. It has developed two sneakers specifically to prevent running injuries, allowing wearers to go the extra mile in comfort.

The project sees two injury-fighting silhouettes that were designed with and tested by runners: an updated version of the Nike React Infinity Run and the brand-new Nike ZoomX Invincible Run. The two sneakers are also primed to boost running efficiency.

The Nike React Infinity Run 2 (US$160), a revamp of the existing React Infinity Run, keeps faithful to runners’ feedback by retaining the original rocker geometry and plush qualities but comes equipped with an enhanced upper. Its Flyknit upper has been built to provide more support and strength in the toe, eye-stay and foxing, while the vamp and midfoot now give extra breathability.

The footwear giant has also added Flywire cables all over the upper for a boost in support. The sneaker also sports a comfier collar that prevents friction.

“Two things come to mind,” shared distance runner Vanessa Fraser, shown above. “One, I feel secure in the shoe. Both the upper and the heel feel great and, for me, were an improvement from the first version. Second: the sole. While familiar, it’s so soft yet reactive, and really responsive with a spring-like feeling.”

The other sneaker, the Nike ZoomX Invincible Run (US$180), is an all-new silhouette that’s more suited for long training runs, thanks to its amped-up cushioning, stability, and rocker geometry. Its midsole is constructed with an extra generous padding of responsive ZoomX foam, which delivers more energy underfoot than all other Nike foam types. This returns a “soft ride” and more energy in your run.

This high-mileage shoe comes with rocker geometry and wider nets in the forefoot for greater stability and fluid stride transition.

The foam’s bouncy nature is balanced with an improved Flyknit upper, Nike’s most stable one yet, which carefully hugs the foot.

Both sneakers are scheduled to release globally beginning 7 January.
