There’s two things you need to at least do to get better rankings in Google My Business and local search in general. Ranking in Google’s 3 pack requires more than these two main things but this will be a start. Firstly make sure you’ve made a decent start on adding your business to Google My Business, including setting up your opening hours, business categories, photos, any videos you may related to your business, and so on.
Next, it’s all about citations and reviews. Ask your customers for reviews and build citations for your business. What are citations? They are basically just entries or profiles in popular business directories / web directories, which allow you to list and promote your business. They’re a bit like an online version of the Yellow Pages. Obviously the Yellow Pages and Thompson Local traditional paper based directories have become much less popular and everything is going online, so it’s time to change with the times.
